New Dwellings
ROUTE 1 - PROVISIONAL B.E.R. CERTIFICATE
A provisional certificate should be done at the design stage of a dwelling. The result of the energy assessment will allow the builder/ self-builder/ purchaser to understand how energy efficient the dwelling will be when completed.
This will allow for any changes needed to the dwelling in order to improve the energy efficiency.
Where a provisional B.E.R. certificate has been issued this will be required to be upgraded to a full B.E.R. certificate before first occupancy.
A provisional B.E.R. certificate is valid for 2 years from date of issue.
ROUTE 2 - FULL B.E.R. CERTIFICATE
If you do not want to alter the original building specifications you can get a full B.E.R. certificate when the dwelling is built and before first occupancy.
